Biography

Elizabeth was born October 18, 1839 the daughter of Elisha M. Alexander (1819-1892) and Sarah Grissom (Hix) Alexander (1825-1888).

She is the sister to Rebecca (Alexander) Smith (1838–1918), Thomas Alexander (1841–1928), Nancy Elvira (Alexander) Moore (1842-?), William Ervin Alexander (1844–1901), Camilla (Alexander) Stewart (1846–1926), Laura (Alexander) Finley (1849–1939), Mary Catherine (Alexander) Duckett (1850–1896), Mahulda Jane (Alexander) Moore (1851–1887), Alfred Pinkney Alexander (1853–1938), Julia Victoria (Alexander) Garrett (1857–1912) and John Prior Alexander (1866–1905)

She married first John Craig Knox (1836-1864) and to this marriage two sons were born, Robert Elisha Knox (1861-1953) and James Ervin Knox (1863-1937)

After John Craig Knox's (1836-1864) death she married Charles Bryan Finley (1841-1926) and to this marriage four children were born, Joseph Alexander Finley (1871-1955), Fletcher McMillan Finley (1873-1962), Essei Virginia (Finley) LaBoon (1873-1962) and John M. Finley (1876-1970)

She passed away October 10, 1894 and was buried in Keowee Baptist Church Cemetery at Six Mile, Pickens County, South Carolina.
