His wife mentions Asahel Ames as the brother of Levi in his Revolutionary War pension application file. She says "I have heard that his brother Asahel Ames was with him...". I've been slowly transcribing the file on the National Archives website. Sometimes the Archives website loads the images in a different order, so if the transcript from the link doesn't match, just flip through the other transcribed pages to find it.
I haven't started transcribing the pension file of Asahel from Connecticut, but many of the affidavits are from New York. Feel free to help me finish transcribing these!
