Biography

Inga Sofia Andersdotter was born on May 4, 1832 in Kaga parish in Östergötland, Sweden.

She had a daughter born out of wedlock in 1854: Anna Sofia Karlsdotter. According to Anna Sofias death record, Karl Fredrik Brandt was her father, but she is always listed as Karlsdotter (his first name), and never Brandt.

Inga married Carl Fredrik Brandt on November 20, 1854. They had tree sons: Carl August b. 1861, Anton Fredrik b. 1864 and Adolf b. 1867.

Anton Fredrik died as a toddler from scarlet fever in 1868. The eldest son Carl August who was disabled, died of seizures 14 years old, in 1875. And their daughter Anna Sofia who died of hemorrhage 23 years old in 1878. She was engaged, but not yet married. Only Adolf survives.

Inga, Carl and Adolf emigrate to the US in 1886. The depart from Krokbränninge Pilgård in Kaga.[1]

According to the 1900 US census, Inga had borne 4 children; only one was still living at the time of the census.

Inga Sofia committed suicide, according to a news paper article on her husband's suicide in 1913 (see his profile).
