Biography

Mary Ann Anderson is the daughter of William Anderson andMary Anne Hunnicutt Anderson. She was born on March 3, 1818 in Baldwin County, Georgia. [1]

In the 1820 U. S. Census (7 August 1820) [2] the family was in Baldwin County, Georgia. Mary Ann would have beenabout one year old of the daughters enumberated as under ten years old.

In the 1830 U. S. Census Mary Ann would have been about twelve years old and enumerated as the daughter between ten and fourteen. The family was still in Baldwin County. [3]

On January 28, 1836, Mary Ann Anderson married Marian J. Fuller in Baldwin County. [4] She would have been about seventeen years old.

Mary's father, William, signed a will on 14 October 1839 in which she is listed as an heir under her maiden name, Mary Ann Anderson.[5]

In William Anderson's will of February 9, 1843, she is listed as Mary Ann Fuller.[6] Her father died in 1844, but his will was not probated until after the death of her mother in 1861.

Her husband, Marion J. Fuller, died on November 8, 1848 in Bibb County, Georgia leaving her with two daughters. [7]

In the 1850 U. S. Census (September 4, 1850) [8] Mary A. Fuller and her two daughters lived in Bibb County, Georgia in the household next to her father-in-law Samuel Fuller. Her daughters were Georgia age 12 and Josephine age 4.

On January 8, 1860, Mary Ann Fuller received $20.28 as a share from the sale of a lot in Cass County from the estate of her father. Her brothers, David M. and Lazarus Anderson were the executors of his will. [9]

In the 1860 U. S. Census (July 16, 1860), [10] Mary A. Fuller was forty three years old and listed as being a weaver. She lived in Valley Plains, Harris County, Georgia. She had a personal estate of $100. Her daughter Josephine lived with her and had a personal estate of $1000.

On July 1, 1862, Mary A. Fuller, received $815.57 from her sister, Louisa Anderson, as the settlement from the estate of her parents. [11]

In the 1870 U. S. Census ( July 26, 1870)[12] Mary Fuller was fifty years old and living in Hamilton, Harris County, Georgia. She lived in the household of James and Henrietta Woodall. She was listed as keeping house. She had real estate valued at $200 and personal estate of $50. The next family was that of Adolphus Anderson, her nephew, and his family.

Mary Ann Fuller died on December 19, 1882 and was buried in Old Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, in Shiloh, Harris County, Georgia. [1]
