Ruth, the third daughter and third of nine children of Caleb Andrews and Anna Marshall was born in December of 1756 and baptized on 22 May 1757 at Ipswich, Massachusetts.[1]

Ruth married James Stevens, the son of Nathaniel and Jerusha (Bennett) Stevens on 5 March 1786 at Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts.[2] They had six children born at Maine, District of Massachusetts:
