Biography

Mary Elizabeth Archibald was born on August 17, 1842, in Harrison, Indiana, her father, Benjamin, was 33, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 28.

She married Robert A Griffith and they had three children together. She then married John McCreary McClurg and they had six children together.

She passed away on July 22, 1931, in Gilbert, Arizona, at the age of 88, and was buried in Mesa, Arizona.

FINDAGRAVE Mary Elizabeth Archibald was married to Robert Griffith, who was railroad worker. They resided in Jefferson County, Iowa. Robert was killed in a train accident resulting from a train colliding with a cow. At the time of Robert's death, Mary had a son Ernie and was pregnant with her second son Perry. She went to live with her brother, George Archibald in Davis County, Iowa. It was there that she met and married John McCreary McClurg (whose first two wives had both died). After John's death later in life, she moved to Arizona to be closer to her daughters. She is buried next to her daughter Ollie in Mesa, Arizona.
