Biography

Elizabeth Auble was born on the 15th of March 1782 at Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Her parents were Matthias Auble and Catharine Fritts . . On the 13 of November 1800 at Hunterdon, Elizabeth married Isaac Emmons and together they had these children:

  • 1. Frederick Emmons (1808-?)
  • 2. Jonathan Emmons (1810-1853)
  • 3. Catharine Emmons (1814-1876)
  • 4. Prudence S. Emmons (1816-1888)
  • 5. Maria Emmons (1818-1902)
  • 6. Eliza Emmons (1820-1907)

The Will of Mattias Auble, Father of Elizabeth

1826 - The Will of Matthias Auble (Father of Andrew) – Written Dated: 13 Feb. 1826 “The last will and testament of Matthias Auble of Covert, County of Seneca, NY. I, Matthias Auble, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this, my last will and testament. First, my beloved wife, Catharine being entitled to one third part of my personals and the use and occupation of our third part of my real property, in case she should survive me, during her natural life. The residue of my personal property I give and bequeath to eight of my sons and daughters, to wife, Elizabeth, wife of Issac Emmons, Frederick, Jacob, Sophia, Andrew, William, George, and James. Secondly, I give and devise to my daughter, Sophia and to my sons, Andrew, George and James the dwelling house in which I now reside, together with the land on which the house stands and also all the land extending each way from the said house four rods, to hold to them, the said Sophia, Andrew, George and James, their heirs forever. Thirdly, I give and divest all the residue of my real property to my seven sons towit, Frederick, William, Jacob, John, Andrew, George and James and to my two daughters, Elizabeth and Sophia, their heirs to be equally divided between them. And I hereby appoint my sons, Andrew and George, Executors of this my last will and testament.” Dated 13th of February 1826.
