Biography

Ann was born about 1837. She was the daughter of James Ayres and Elizabeth Beecroft. She passed away in 1880.

When Ann Elizabeth Ayres Hayes was born in 1837 in Brooklyn, New York, her father, James, was 30, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 26. She had one son and one daughter with John Gordon. She died on September 15, 1880, in her hometown at the age of 43 from alocholism and was buried in her family plot at GreenWood Cemetery.

Research Notes

Several years after arriving in America, the Ayres family began calling themselves the Hayes family. Unsure if Jonas is simply transcription error or if he changed his first name to James, also.
