Biography

Elizabeth Ruth Seward was born in Pond Hill, Conyngham Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on 26 Dec 1924. She was the fifth of ten children born to Verna Agnes Keiner and Fred Lloyd Seward Sr. Betty lived with her parents and five siblings in Conyngham Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania in 1930.^[1] In 1940 she lived on Route 40026 in Slocum Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania with her parents, seven siblings, and her paternal grandfather.^[2]

Betty and Harry Badman applied for a marriage license on 16 Mar 1946 at the Luzerne County Courthouse, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. They were married by Rev. Vernon Brooke Yeich on 23 Mar 1946 in Pond Hill, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.^[3] The couple raised four daughters (still living in 2021) and one son, Ronald H. Badman. Betty Badman died on 17 Feb 2017 in Smith Nursing and Convalescent Home, Wright Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.^[4] She is buried in Stairville Cemetery, Dorrance Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.^[5]
