Biography

He has been detached from Rainald (Balliol) de Balliol (abt.1060-aft.1121) and Amieria Montgomery as parents.

Research Notes

  • There are several families that are given the modern name of Balliol (or variations) but although they have the same name they are not at all related and originate from different areas of northern France, where there were thirteen villages named Bailleul.[1]
  • Those pedigrees that name Rainald as his father are confusing the Balliols from Picardy, to whom Rainald was not related. [2]

So I made the change right after I woke up. Now I'm not sure if I did it correctly... Andrew, please look and let me know. Thanks.
Guy the son should presumably be Hugh's brother. Here is the Findlater post: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/soc.genealogy.medieval/HhWhaX8VQq0/nj8q8lR8k0sJ

May be son of Rainald De Balliol <wiki: Balliol-25>. His mother married both Warin and Rainald.

Al, as I have mentioned previously, feel free to create a Free Space page on Wikitree with your DNA theories. And you can post on G2G about your page, as well as link to it, as well as on your profile.
