Biography

Alfred Banks was born about 1815, in what became Wilkes County, North Carolina, to Henry C Banks and Catherine Pruett. He moved with his father's family to Perry County, Kentucky sometime before 1830.

Alfred married on 31 Mar 1842, to Jane "Jenny" Frazier.[1] In 1846 Alfred was found living in Letcher , on the Rock House Creek. Also living on Rock House was Harrison Banks.

Census 1850[2] In 1850, Alfred and Jane Frazier Banks are found in the Letcher County, Kentucky Census. He was 35, and Jane was 37.

In March 1867, Alfred Banks pleaded a motion before the March Term of the Court to be exonerated from paying a militia tax because he was over 45 years of age.

Death Record Letcher Co Death Records show Alfred as s/o Henry Banks, d. 28 Jul 1888. Also his death is noted in Defeated Creek Diaries of Eli Hall. [8]
