Mehetable was born on 24th May and baptised on 7th August 1809, at the Old Meeting Independent in Clare Suffolk.[1][2]She was the daughter of Daniel Barham and his wife Jane.
Mehitable appears on the Court Proceedings in July 1825 charged with Larceny, found Guilty and inprisoned for 1 calender mouth.[3][4]
Mehitable appears in the criminal registers in the July sessions of 1826. [5][6]again for Larcerny, sentenced to a further month.
In 1828 Mehetable appears in the Court Proceedings at the Suffolk Sessions, this time serving papers against one John Smith for his refusal to admit that he was the father of her son John. It is not known if Mehitable won this case as nothing is noted.
Mehitable again appears at the courts in 1832 when she filled further Barstoady paper, this time against Charles Jolly for refusing to admit that he was the father of her son Charles Barham. We know that this case was won as Charles pays money to Mehitble. Also his name is recorded on Charles marriege certificate.
In 1835 Mehitable finnally setles down by marring Jonas Mayzes on 22nd November 1835 at Steeple in Essex.[7][8]

1861 census shows them now living in Crayford, Kent.[11][12]Church Hill, Crayford. Head of the household Jonas Mays 50 Watch and Clock Maker born Suffolk. Mary wife 52 Suffulk. George mays son unm 14 Essex. Caroline daughter 12, Essex. Daniel son unm 10 Essex. Charles Bareham son 35 Labour in Brickfields, Suffolk, Eliza Barehan daughter 35 Suffolk. Jonas`s wife Mehetable or Mary had 2 or 3 children before her marriage to Jonas, Charles and Eliza are 2 of those.

Caroline daughter 2 months born 1881 Battersea. Mary Mayzes mother 76 widow born 1805 Clare in Suffolk. Henry Junter boarder 30 Labourer gas works. John Colshill boarder 20 Carman born 1861 Islington.
1891 census for Battersea in London.[17][18]21 Powton Road. Walter Mayzes head married 48 Labourer born 1843 Crayford. Emma wife born 1845 Ramsgate. William son 23 no occupation born 1868 Bexley. Annie daughter 14 shop Assistant born 1877 Battersea. Carrie daughter 10 scholer born 1881 Battersea. Mary mother widow 89 born 1802 Clare Suffolk. Arthur Mayzes grandson 6 born 1885 Battersea.
She passed away in 1892 and can be found on the Death index as Jetetabel Mayzes June quarter of 1892 aged 86 at Wandsworth in London.[19]volume 1d page 331.
She was buried on 12th May 1892 at St Mary`s Church in Battersea.[20][21]Mehitable Mayzes of 19 Powton Road, Battersea buried this day aged 86.
