After returning home he and his wife Loretta settled in Caldwell where they had 7 children. After Ritta passed away in in 1880 he married again on 2 Nov 1887 to Mary Tilley. They had no children.
It is believed Tilley passed away as he married again on 3 Aug 1893 to Jane Beck. They had no children.
He died in 1897. He and his 3rd wife are buried at the McLean Family Cemetery in Watauga County, NC.
Pursuant to several family members, Calvin is buried beside his third wife, Jane Beck Barlow, in the McLean Cemetery, Watauga County, NC. And Ted Shook, author of the book, "Grandfather Community," included in his book a map of the McLean Cemetery which shows that Calvin and Jane Beck Barlow are buried in the McLean Cemetery.
