Francis Barnard was the son of Joseph Barnard. He was born 11 September 1719 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. ^[1]

He married Lucretia <Carroll> Pinney in 1740 in Connecticut.

• Wakefield gives her name as Lucretia Carroll on Page 43 (Francis and Lucretia's daughter Sarah married a Wakefield). ^[2]
