In the will of her grandmother Dame Mary Judd of Latton, Essex, the will made on 20 Feb 1596/1597, published on 13 Jul 1601, and proved on 19 Feb 1601/1602[4] the Testatrix made bequests to her 'son in law' Edward Altham and his wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth's father, John Barne, was a co-Executor of the will.
