Hamlin Gaius Barnes was a son of Gaius Hamilton Barnes and Harriet Walker (Ferson) Barnes. He was born in Stockbridge, Vermont. According to his death certificate, he was born 14 October 1863. Smith reported his birth date as 9 October 1863.[1][2]
Hamlin Gaius Barnes died in Randolph, Vermont, on 23 January 1933 at the reported age of 69 years, 3 months, and 14 days. Cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been a farmer but had stopped working in that occupation in 1928. His usual residence was Bethel, Vermont. He was the widower of Minnie Dean.[1]
