Sarah Barnett was b abt 1824 and passed away 1 October 1866.
The Bahamas Civil Deaths reports that a Sarah Symonett, age 42, b abt 1824, passed away on October 1, 1866 in Rock Sound, just days after giving birth to John Symonett. Her passing is recorded on the same page as the death of John Symonett, 14 days old on Oct 5, 1866. This death record matches the birth of John Symonett, recorded in the Bah Civil Births when he was born to Sarah (Barnett) Symonett and Timothy Symonett in Sept. 1866. They both died of dysentery. See attached image.
(Not to be confused withanother Sarah Symonette, perhaps the daughter of Sarah Sr., who died in 1890)
2. Sarah Barnett married Timothy Symonett 10 October 1848 in Rock Sound, Eleuthera or New Providence.
3. Sarah Barnett had at least 9 children with Timothy. They were:
i. Frances SYMONETTE Charlew female b 2 Sept 1848 , d 19 August 1923 m Benjamin C. Charlow bef 1887
ii.) Symonett Male b: 26 DEC 1850 in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, Bahamas (listed in Baha Civil Births as unnamed SYMONETTE son of Sarah Barnett and Timothy Symnet (sic) name "Francis" listed by Parker-Brady Dolly Mae
iii.) SYMONETTE female (b. 17 Aug 1852 Rock Sound, Eleuthera) name maybe "Elizabeth" according to Parker-Brady Dolly Mae however Elizabeth's records indicate that she was born in 1856.
iv.) SYMONETTE female (b. 25 or 20 AUG 1854 Rock Sound, Eleuthera) (Could this be be Sarah Jr. who shows up in records long after her mother's death and who in 2 records perhaps provides a connection to the Edwin Symonettes of The Current) To make various records work, Sarah Symonette Jr should be born ca. 1852-1859.
v.) SYMONETTE male (b. 5 Sept 1856 Rock Sound, Eleuthera) Parker-Brady theorizes that this unnamed male is Timothy Jr. but the Symonette b 14 Ap 1859 is a more likely candidate
vi.) SYMONETTE male (b. 14 Apr 1859 Rock Sound, Eleuthera) This is the record that best fits Timothy SYMONETTE, Jr. (b. abt 1862 Rock Sound, Eleuthera, d. 25 Dec 1925 in Key West, FL His death records say he died at @ age 63 but his early census recordsindicate he was b ca. 1859-60. As the years go by, he gets "younger" in the census.) Parker Brady Says Female
vii.) SYMONETTE male (b. 11 Aug 1860 Rock Sound, Eleuthera) Parker-Brady says this is Charles and indeed, while the date differs from one of his census records, this birthdate works other census records and with his death records.
viii.) Catherine SYMONETTE (1 Jan or Jun 1864 Eleuthera, d. 15 Nov 1940 Miami, FL) ---|sp: Charles Wesley WATKINS (b. 2 Aug 1859, d. 4 Apr 1932) son of Jonathon "John" Watkins and Charity Barnett
ix.) John SYMONETTE (b. 20 Sep 1866 Rock Sound, d 5 Oct 1866. The record says he is 14 days old and he dies of dysentery- like his Mom who is shown on the same page.
