Biography

Hiram L. Baxter was born on July 1853 at New York, USA. He appeared on the census of 29 Aug. 1860 in the household of his parents, George Franklin Baxter and Jane (Snay) Baxter, at Masonville, Delaware County, New York.^[1] He was a farm laborer living in the Stephen Post home when he appeared on the census of 20 July 1870 at Sidney, Delaware County, New York.^[2]

He married Fannie Eliza Wheeler^[3], daughter of John W. Wheeler and Elizabeth (Davis) Wheeler, on 10 July 1884 at Solon Township, Kent County, Michigan.^[4]

He was a day laborer when he and Fannie appeared on the census of 28 June 1900 at Masonville, Delaware County, New York.^[5] He was a farmer when he and Fannie appeared on the census of 5 May 1910 at Masonville, Delaware County, New York.^[6]

Hiram died on 2 Feb. 1925 in Masonville, Delaware County,^[4] and was buried at Masonville Cemetery, Masonville, New York. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and link to that of his wife Fanny.^[7]
