DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Jeannine or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jeannine:
  • 100.00% X DNA 100.00% Jeannine Bean: 23andMe

Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Hi Jeannine

Thank you for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.

Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.

The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.

To be able to add profiles, you will need to upgrade (there is no cost). You can do this from your Upgrade page. Just answer the five questions, e.g. who you want to communicate with, if others can see your family tree, what surnames, locations, or topics interest you, etc, and click on the green box that says "Upgrade”.

Upgrading just means you will become a Family Member with the ability to work on your immediate ancestors to help us achieve our goal of joining all individual family trees into one global family tree.

I hope this helps! If you have any problems, let me know.

Take care

Karen ~ WikiTree Greeter

Hi Jeannine and Thom,

When the profiles were merged, Jeannine's privacy setting changed from Unlisted to Open.

So, Jeannine, if you plan to be active and create and adopt profiles and such, that's perfect. You need to have a reasonably public profile to do those things. If you'd rather keep to a stricter privacy policy at present, that’s fine, too. Just adjust the privacy settings by clicking on the lock in the upper right side of your profile.

Thanks,

Claire ~ WikiTree Greeter

Thanks Claire, I had already set the privacy to a stricter level and communicated some ideas on content and policy to Jeannine.

Bean-6462 and Bean-6461 appear to represent the same person because: I did not know you had already created a profile so now there are two and we need to merge them.
