Mary A. Bell was born about 1824 in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, United States, daughter of John Bell (abt. 1794–1851) and Ann Chapman (abt. 1794–aft. 1850).
In the 1850 United States Federal Census Mary (age 26) was in East Feliciana, Louisiana, United States.[1]
She married Mr. Cropper between 1850 and 1860 and while they had no known children, she acquired a step-son, John Cropper, b. 1842.[2][3]
In the 1860 United States Federal Census, Augusta (age 30) was in Johnson, Texas, United States.[2]
Augusta married Wm P Jacobs on 5 Nov 1861 in Johnson, Texas, United States.[4][5][6]
In the 1870 United States Federal Census, Augusta (age 37) was in Anderson, Texas, United States.[7]
In the 1880 United States Federal Census Mary (age 50), Keeping House, was the widowed mother of John Cropper in Ellis, Texas, United States.[8]
In the 1900 United States Federal Census Mary (age 78) was the widowed mother of Thomas Jacobs in Justice Precinct 4, Erath, Texas, United States.[9]
Mary died on 6 Feb 1903 and was buried in Duffau, Erath, Texas, United States.[10]
