Hester Ann Bentley was born 31 Dec 1856 at Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia to Thomas Bentley and Harriet York,[1] who were a farming family.
Hester was married 3 Nov 1875 at Diligent River, Nova Scotia, by Baptist License. Hester was 19 when she married 26 year old Charles Monson Green. Witnesses to the marriage included D.H. Jenks and David Bentley, with the Reverend T. B. Layton officiating.[2][3] Monse Green was a mariner, farmer and cook.

Hester died 8 Mar 1920, age 64, of tuberculosis, at Fox River, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia. She was buried at Wards Brook Baptist Cemetery, Wards Brook, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia.[1] Monse died at Fox River a year later of pneumonia,[4] and is buried at Wards Brook Baptist Cemetery.
