Richard was born in 1846. [1] He was baptised on 23rd August 1846 at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough, Oxfordshire.[2] He was the son of Richard Berry and Anne (Tallot) Berry.
Marriage
Richard married Ellen Louisa Long on 25th September 1871 at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough, Oxfordshire.[3] On the register Richard said he was "of full age", a bachelor living in Hanborough and working as a labourer. His father Richard was also a labourer. Ellen was an 18 year old spinster working as a gloveress and the daughter of Edwin, a labourer. The witnesses were Martin Long and Ellen Wiggins.
