Biography
October 276, 1798; Elizabeth, John, Mary, Nancy and Sally Bicknell and John Matthews and Maryann his wife of Amherst Co., of the one part, and Samuel Scot Scruggs of the other part, for the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds for a parcel of land containing two hundred and thirty six acres on trible fall creek a branch of the Rockfish River (This may land which was part of Thomas Bicknells's 373 acres surveyed November 25, 1766).
On Nancy's marriage record her mother, Lucy Bicknell, gave her consent. They were married by Rev. William Crawford
