Þorgerður Bjarnadóttir
Birth: 1 Mar 1817
Death: 25 Dec 1908
"Housewife at Rangárlón on Jökuldalsheiði, resident there in 1845.[1] Emigrated to North-America in 1876 from Lýtingsstaðir in Vopnafjarðarhreppur, Norður-Múlasýsla, Iceland. Austfirskar Æviskrár claim that Þorgerður was the mother of Petrólína who emigrated to North-America with Guðmundur but that is probably a conflation with her daughter Björg Petrólína who Þorgerður had with Pétur" (Íslendingabók).[2]

Research Notes
I don't know where Íslendingabók gets their birthdate 1 Mar 1817. The only church record of her birth that I've located so far dosen't have her birth date and has her birth year as 1818[8] and that record is missing half of 1817 and anything before that date, it also doesn't seem to be the original parish record.
