Biography

Nancy Board was born about 1778 in Bedford County, the daughter of John Board and Jane Harwood.

Nancy married John Meador in 1796. They probably met while both were living with their parents on Molly Day's Run. John and Nancy lived on Jumping Run until about 1810 when they moved a few miles south to Franklin County, where they remained on Camping Run.

Nancy died some time between the 1830 census and John's remarriage to Phebe J. Crews in 1833.

After John Board died, Nancy apparently was allotted 75 acres of land as part of his estate. But both Nancy and John died before anything was done to distribute this land. A chancery court case file (see below) confirms the relationships between Nancy and her parents, as well as John Meador, and names their surviving heirs.
