Biography
Cornelius Bodine was born on. February 17, 1757 in North Branch, Somerset, New Jersey. He was the son of Abraham and Marytje "Mary" (Low) Bodine.
Cornelius married Margaret Sutphen in 1772. Cornelius and Margaret first resided in Readington, New Jersey where their first three sons were born. By 1787 they had removed to Muncy, Lycoming, Pennsylvania where four additional sons were born. Taking altogether, Cornelius and Margaret had seven sons including Abraham, Peter, John C., Cornelius Jr., Gilbert, Isaac, and George.
Private Cornelius Bodine served with 1st Battalion, Somerset County Militia, New Jersey Militia during the American Revolution.
Cornelius Bodine is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A011652.
Cornelius Bodine was a New Jersey patriot.
Later in life, Cornelius and Margaret relocated to Ovid, Seneca New York.
Cornelius passed away on June 12, 1820 in Ovid leaving Margaret a widow. He is buried at the McNeal Cemetery in Ovid. [1]
