"Mary Bogue Jones died at the home of her daughter after a brief illness, August 15, 1870. She was born in North Carolina, Feb. 20, 1787. In Nov., 1829, with her husband, moved to Young's Prairie, Cass Co., Michigan, where she spent the remaining portion of her life. In the autumn of 1832, her husband died, leaving her with six children to support and educate amongst the privations of a very new country. During the principal part of her life she was a devoted member of the Society of Friends, but, about the year 1853, she became convinced of the more perfect way of the Lord when she became a member of the Church of Christ when she spent the Autumn of her life preparing together the golden fruit of the better land."
