Luther Bradley was born on December 08, 1822 in North Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, United States, to Luther Bradley (1772-1830) and Anna Maria Prentice (1788-1876).
Luther married Ione Dewey (1841-1921) the daughter of William Dewey (1813-1862) and Louisa Crosby (1821-1898).[1]They had two sons.[2][3][4]
William Dewey Bradley (1869-1961) married Ethel G. Richardson (1878-1933)[5]
Robert Prentice Bradley (1872-1953) married in 1918 Mathilda Mayer [6][7]
He died on March 13, 1910 in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington, United States [8]
Civil War
Luther Prestice Bradley enlisted at the age of 38, on 20 September 1861 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was commissioned into the Field and Staff of 51st Illinois Infantry on 15 October 1861. On 30 July 1864 he was promoted to Brig-General and commissioned into the US Volunteers General Staff, he resigned on 30 June 1865. He continued to serve in the US Army until 8 December 1886.
Luther was wounded in action on 29 November 1864 at Spring Hill, Tennessee.
