William was born in 1765 in Virginia. He married his wife, Dicy Jane Callicott, in Amelia, Virginia in 28 October, 1791. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and drew land in Georgia in a land lottery in 1827. He and his wife had 9 children together. He passed away in Clarke County, Georgia, in 1838 in is buried in Bishop, Oconee County, Georgia.
