Charles Bray was born in Cornwall, England.

Charles Ernest Bray was born about 21 November 1891, his birth being registered at Helston, Cornwall in the 1st quarter of 1892[1][2]. He was the eldest son of Ernest Bray and Mary Knapman.

He was baptised on 23 November 1891 at Landewednack, Cornwall[3]. His father was a Labourer of Lizard.

In the 1911 England Census Charles Bray (aged 19 and Horseman on Farm) was recorded in the household of Eliza Julian Nicholls (37) and George Nicholls (36) at Treleage, Ruan Minor, Cornwall.

He married Mary Nellie Simkins in 1921 in Tamworth, Staffordshire[4].

In the 1939 England and Wales Register Charles E Bray (aged 48) was recorded living with his wife Mary N Bray (43) and possibly one of their children at 5 Orchard Cottages, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England.

Occupation: Tank Attendant Drainage

He passed away in about 1961[5].
