William B. Breed, born in 1848 in Alabama, was the third child of Eliza (McDaniel) Breed (abt.1810-abt.1881) and William Jasper Breed (1813-1892) [1].
Per the caption of his online memorial site, W. B. Breed, age 18, was enlisted for the duration of the [American Civil] war by Capt. Jefferson Falkner on July 25, 1861, at Chambers County, Alabama, as a private in Capt. Jefferson Falkner's Company, (Chambers Cavalry) Alabama Cavalry. This company was subsequently assigned to the 8th (Wade's) Regiment, Confederate Cavalry as Company B. Pvt Breed's horse was valued at $160 and his equipments at $20. Pvt Breed died in camp in Kentucky of relapse of measles on November 20, 1861.
