Biography

Mary Paulding Breed, born 30 Apr 1901, was the fifth child of Clara Meigs (Meade) Breed (1867-1952) and Richard Edwards Breed (1837-1923) ^[1]. She was counted at age 8 with her birth family in the 1910 U.S. census of Philadelphia ^[2], and likewise at age 18 in 1920 ^[3].

Mary Paulding Breed married 19 Dec 1925 Clarence Lee Conner Atkeson ^[4], the marriage license applied for on 14 December ^[5] [27 Oct 1899 - 8 Sep 1975; son of Annie May (Conner) & Clarence Lee Crawford Atkeson]. They had two children:

• Timothy Breed Atkeson, B. April 18, 1927
• Edward Breed Atkeson, B. Dec 6, 1929

This family was enumerated in the 1930 U.S. census of Yorktown, Virginia ^[6].

Mary Paulding (Breed) Atkeson died 17 Aug 1988 at Washington, DC. Her grave is in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA ^[7]. Note: The online F-A-G site presents an incorrect spelling of Mary's middle name, this even with the depicted grave marker which is clearly inscribed Paulding.
