BRICKNELL-HARRIS
On Thursday, September 15, the marriage was solemnised of Melvie May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Harris, of Munden Farm, Longford, and Reuben John, second eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bricknell, of Munden, Longford. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Barnes, of Longford, at the residence of Mrs. A. Walker, aunt of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an apricot crepe de Chine frock, with hat to match. The bride was attended by Miss Fanny Bricknell, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty frock of grey repp with hat to tone. Mr. B. Jarmey, of Bracknell, was best man. The wedding was quiet, owing to the ill-health of the bride's mother, only relatives and immediate friends being present at the wedding lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Bricknell's future home will be at Cressy-road.
They were divorced in 1947.
Reuben died in 1983, and was buried in the Longford General Cemetery, Longford, Tasmania.
