Herman was the son of Wilhelm Brietzke of Germany. The reason there is no source for the birth registration of Herman Paul Brietzke, is because where he was born in Pommern, Prussia, the records have not been released. The German and Prussia WT groups explained that the village he was born in now is in Poland. After the war, the country of Prussia was divided up and destroyed. Each Church is private and they have to join a group which will allow the group to come in and digitalize the records. This has not been done, as of 2021. The earliest record will be used.
Herman first married Fredericka Wilhelmina Van Suckow.(1854-1892).
Her name was listed on her daughter Wilhelmine's (Minnie's) death record.[1]

After Fredericka's death in 1892 he relinquished at least one child, his daughter Wilhelmine "Minnie" to the care of Anne Berlinke and Carl Menge.
Herman secondly married the 17 year old Ida Irene Jacobs (1876-1953) in 1893.,[4]

Thirdly, Herman married Katharine Lydia Hoff (relict Allwin) of Russia, after 1900 and before 1910. Katharine was already a mother to Lydia Allwin and John Allwin.
The reason we know the children were Katharine's before marriage is because Herman's son Paul filled out an immigration record for his visit to his "step brother" John Alvin.[9]
The family was found in the 1910 US Federal Census in Berlin, Sheridan, North Dakota[10]
The household was enumerated as follows:
Herman Brietzke Head Male 55 Germany
