Biography

George Brighton 1800 “George son of George & Hannah Brighton born ye 24 day of January 1800 at Lakenham in Norfolk, but baptized 3 Oct 1802” George married Keziah Connabeer on 12 Nov 1838 at Buckland Monachorum. In 1841 George 40 was a farmer at Leigh, Beer Ferrers with Kezia 25, and next door at New House were his siblings Richard 25, Oakley 25, and Sarah 20. In 1851 George Brighton 51 born at Troone, Norfolk, was an innkeeper at Cothele, Calstock, with wife Keziah 28 born at Buckland, Devon, and a servant and a visitor. Next door at Cothele House was Henry Brighton 45 born at Bere Ferrers game keeper with wife Peggy 49 born at Whitchurch and daughter Mary 18 born at Bereferris. In 1861 George 61 was a gardener living at Kelly Road, Calstock with Kezia 48. In 1881 George 81 born at Norwich, was a gardener living at Lower Kelly, Calstock with Keziah 67 born at Buckland. George died on 9 June 1885 aged 85 at Calstock. [Calstock MI]
