Biography

William (Brintnal) Brintnall was born in Massachusetts.

William, the third child and fourth son of Thomas Brintnell and Hannah Willard was born say 1699 in Sudbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

William married Zerviah Buckminster, daughter of Col. Joseph Buckminster and Martha Sharp on 19 December 1729 at Sudbury, Massachusetts.[1]William and Zerviah had several children:

  1. Buckminster Brintnal (bp. 29 Sep 1730, Sudbury, MA; d. 1789),[2] m. say 1756 at Rutland, MA, Abigail Waterhouse (b. 1734)
  2. Anna Brintnal (b. 12 Jan 1732, Sudbury, MA; d. 10 Aug 1736, Rutland, MA),[3][4]
  3. Lucy Brintnal (b. 1734), m. 1752 at Sudbury, MA, Stephen Miles (1732-)
  4. Dorothy Brintnal (b. 18 Jul 1736, Rutland, MA; d. 1831),[5] m. 9 Jan 1765 at New Haven, CT, Hezekiah Ripley (1743-1831)
  5. Caleb Brintnal (b. 1 Nov 1738, Framingham, MA; d. 1764),[6]
  6. William Brintnal (b. 12 Aug 1740, Framingham, MA; d. 22 Jun 1741, Framingham, MA),[7][8]
  7. William Brintnal (b. 12 Dec 1745; d. 13 Feb 1826, CT),[9][10] m. say 1768 at New Haven, CT, Abigail Munson (1748-1819)

William Brintnal received his A.B. in 1721 and A.M. in 1724 from Yale College; he preached as a candidate at Rutland, MA in 1721; he was a schoolmaster at Sudbury, MA from 1722-1726; he was in command of troops at Sudbury, MA in August 1725; was in Sudbury, MA until 1734; at Rutland, MA 1734-1737; removed to Framingham in 1737.[11]

William Brintnal died in 1745 in his 46th year at Framingham, Massachusetts.[11]His youngest child, William, was born around or shortly after his father died.
