Biography

Kitty (Brookover) Braithwaite has German Roots.

Catherine “Kitty” Brookover was born in 1763 in Frederick, Virginia.[1] Her father was Jacob Brookover.

She married William Braithwaite on May 18, 1786.[2][3]

Their children together included:

  1. Benjamin Braithwaite (1786-1871), married Maria Hoffman
  2. William Braithwaite Jr. (1787-1865), married Alena King
  3. Amelia Braithwaite (1789-?), married Henry Dealy
  4. Elizabeth Braithwaite (1791-1857), married William Strickling
  5. Jacob Braithwaite (1792-1860), married Sarah Bowman
  6. John Braithwaite (1792-1860), married Susan Farmer
  7. Susannah Braithwaite (1798-1865), m1. John Dailey, m2. Thomas John Middleton
  8. Priscilla Braithwaite (1799-1879), married John Adam Franks
  9. Eleanor Braithwaite (1801-1896), married Jonathan Bingley Mason
  10. Violet Braithwaite (1802-1891), never married
  11. Mary Braithwaite (1804-bef. 1870), never married
  12. Emily Braithwaite (1808-aft. 1880), never married

She died on August 3, 1838 in Frederick, Virginia, and was buried in the Heironimus Family Cemetery.[1]
