Early Life

Edith was born in 1922 was born to the parents of John Brumley and Henrietta Smotherman in Hollis, Harmon, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of thirteen children. She spent most of her childhood growing up on a farm.

Marriage 1

Edith married Everett Eugene Martin 22 April 1939, Hollis, Harmon, Oklahoma. [1]Not long after they were married moved to Childress, Childress, Texas between 1941 - 1944. They had four daughters and one son. One daughter and son did not survive infancy. Edith and Everett eventually divorced and she married Kelsey James.

Marriage 2

Kelsey James in Childress, Texas after 1956. They had no children. But Kelsey had three children by a previous marriage. (sources to be added)

Death

Edith passed away in 21 Nov 1991[3]at the age of 69, after living most of her life in Childress, Texas. She is buried at Childress Cemetery, Childress, Texas.[4]

  • They had a daughter Patricia Ann Martine was born 1940 and died in same year. But can not find any documents at this time.
