Deceased has left a wife and family of grown-up sons and daughters. The Rev. Father Donovan officiated at the grave. The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic cemetery, near Old Marulan.[9]

Research

His family converted to the Latter Day Saints and migrated from New South Wales to California in 1853.[10] He may have married Susanna Barker Forshney Bucknell (Buckner) there in 1860.[11] A Susanna Barker (Forshney) married William Wentworth Bucknell in Merriwa, New South Wales, Australia in 1841 and had two sons, Thomas Wentworth and Arthur. William was married twice after that, lived in New South Wales, Australia, and was part of the LDS Church. Susanna may have married again to Reuben Bryant.[12] [13][14][15]

Bryant-16122 and Bryant-7279 appear to represent the same person because: Transcript of Reuben and Elizabeth's marriage in the parish record (found on Ancestry) has the right parents for "Rhuben" Bryant (name given on bounty immigrant papers) - mother's surname is Staphney instead of Stapley, but that could also be a misreading of the handwriting.
