John Buie was born in 1746 or 1750, in Bladen County, North Carolina.[citation needed][1]
John Buie of Cumberland County, North Carolina, died after 21 November 1822, the date he wrote his will.[2]
His will, "signed and sealed on Nov. 21, 1822", was proved in the June term of court and ordered to be recorded in Book B, page 105. The witnesses were: John McLeod, Norman McDonald and John Patterson Jr. Cumberland county was made out of Bladen county so this is in the Cumberland county wills.[1][3]
Executors: Son-in-law Duncan Patterson and Alexander McDonald[2]
Research Notes
The John Patterson who witnessed the will is probably his son-in-law, who is named in the will but not as a legatee.[2]
His wife is assumed to have died before he wrote his will, as he does not mention her. He names six sons and four daughters in his will. WikiTree profiles for his children/grandchildren as of 22 July 2023:

I think he might be the John "Bluie" named as a witness for Archibald Holmes' 1797 will (Cumberland Co., NC). The will is transcribed on Archibald's Find a Grave memorial:
