Karl was born at Groß Trampken, West Prussia on 30 May 1890. His parents were Richard Oscar Burandt and Emma Johanna (Wenzel) Burandt.
Cadet at Koslin, Pomerania and at Berlin from 1901 to 1910.
Active officer from 1910 to 1919.
Captain of militia in Danzig after World War I.
Karl died in Berlin Charlottenburg on 19 Apr 1940. At the time of his death he was a Colonel (Oberst), retired.
