Biography

Nathan was born 7 Mar 1784 in Manchester, VT.[1] He was the son of Elijah and Rachel (Smith) Burton.[2][3]

He married to Charlotte Graves about 1810, based on the date of birth of their oldest child. The couple had eight children during their life together.[3]

He supported his family well, as both a lawyer and County Judge, also serving his community as a town representative in 1818-1819. He gave up his law practice in 1850.[3]

Nathan passed away of apoplexy 21 Oct 1864 in Rupert.[2]He is buried in Rupert Street Cemetery.[1]
