Biography

Benjamin was born in 1866. He is the son of Benjamin Butcher (1824-1915) and Catharina (Scholting) Butcher (1830-1879)

He was known as Benjamin Henry William Butcher, or Benjamin Henry Butcher.

He married Minnie Jeanette Pickett on 9 March 1891 in Brighton, Victoria[1]

TThere were eight children born to Benjamin and Minnie - Benjamin Stanley (1892-1927), George Frederick Leslie (1893-1950), Roy Lyndall (1894-1973), Reginald Vincent (1895-1895), James Gladstone (1898-1980), Geoffrey Redvers (1900-1900), Minnie Salisbury (1905-1994), David Mackie (1912-1983) His wife passed away in 1932.

Benjamin Butcher passed away in 1912 aged 46 years[2]

He is buried in the Brighton Cemetery, Victoria - Church of England B 55. Burial date 9 May 1912.[3]

Research note

According to his Ancestry profile he was also married to Elizabeth "Lizzie' Nelson and they fostered a child - William Walter Nelson (1887-1968) but no record of a marriage was found.
