Ennis was born in 1906. He was the son of John Butter and Mary Duck.
In 1906 Ennis (misspelled Innis), three years old, is living with his parents John and Fannie Butter and his siblings in Spring Hill (now Forest Hill) Rapides Parish, Louisiana. [1]
Ennis was married to Drusilar Giles and they had at least six children.
On 16 October 1940 Ennis signed up for the WWII Draft in Alexandria, Rapides, Louisiana. He gave his birthdate as 13 August 1906. He is described as 6' tall, 140 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes, light complexion. [2]
Ennis passed away 3 May 1994 in the hospital in Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. He is buried in the Butters Cemetery in Forest Hill, Rapides, Louisiana. His FAG memorial has his birth date as 1909 but it should be 1906. [3][4]
