Elenor "Ellen" Campbell was born on 28 November 1828 in North Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of Norman Campbell (1796 - 1871) and Isabella (Black) Campbell (~1806 - 1884).[1]
Ellen Campbell and Dugald McCall were married on 16 March 1847 in Cumberland County, North Carolina.[2] They were enumerated in the same household and were assumed to be husband and wife on the 1850 United States Census for Cumberland County, North Carolina. The two-year-old child, Ann McCall, also enumerated in the same household was assumed to be their only child. The household of Ellen's parents was recorded on the lines just above hers.[3] Dugald McCall died in November 1851. Ellen's father, Norman Campbell, was appointed administrator of his estate.[4]
After the death of her husband, Ellen McCall lived with other family members. An 1860 United States Census record has not been located. In 1870, she was living in the household of her father.[5] Her whereabouts when the 1880 United States Census was taken has not yet been determined. In 1900 she was living in the household of her younger brother, A. B. Campbell. Some of her other siblings were also living in the household which was situated in Cumberland County, North Carolina.[6] She was also living with the same brother in 1910 when the United States Census was taken.[7]
Elenor "Ellen" (Campbell) McCall died on 09 August 1916 in McLauchlin Township, Hoke County, North Carolina at the age of 87. She was buried in Galatia Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina.[1][8]
