George was born in 1777. He was the son of George Carnegie and Susan Scott.
He was baptised on 31 December 1777 at Montrose, Angus, Scotland.[1]
George chose a military profession and attained the rank of Captain in the service of the East India Company.
He distinguished himself in the defense of Delhi against Holkar.
He passed away in 1804, in his 28th year, from a liver complaint.
