Biography

Joseph was born in 1727. He was the son of Ignace Carret and Cécile Henry.

In 1752 the family was recorded on the 1752 La Roque census at Pointe-à-la-Jeunesse, Ile Royale (now Cape Breton Island), Nouvelle-France. [1]

Joseph, his parents Ignace, age 84, Cécile, age 58, and his siblings were deported to France in 1758. They disembarked at Saint-Malo on January 23 1759 from one of the " Five English ships " (Yarmouth, Patience, Mathias, Restoration, John Samuel).[2]

He died in Saint-Servan on 27 March 1759.
