Holbæk Amt was located on the north west part of Zeeland (Sjælland). It was formed in 1793 from the merge of the former Kalundborg Amt, Sæbybård amt, Dragsholm Amt. The market town of Holbæk, Kallundborg and Nykøbing sjælland, became part of Holbæk Amt in 1800.
Holbæk County consisted of 7 herreds; Ars Hundred, Løve Hundred, Merløse Hundred, Ods Hundred, Skippinge Hundred, Samsø Hundred, Tuse Hundred
