INVENTORY OF THE COMMUNITY PROPERTY OF THE LATE JEAN-BAPTISTE CHAMPAGNE FILS AND HIS WIFE, CATHERINE WAGUESPACK.[1]
St.-Amand was informed that Jean-Baptiste Champagne fils died October 30, 1797, and is survived by five children, namely: Adélaïde (7-1/2), Eugène (6), Céleste (5), Jean-Baptiste (4), Marianne (21 days).
The inventory was taken in the presence of jean-Baptiste Champagne père, Jean-Louis De Vic Waguespack, Catherine's brother, and the widow.
Inventory taken by Paul Toups and Joseph Beauvais. Witness were Niclas Brou and Alphonse Frederic. Jean-Baptiste Champagne père was named curator of the minors. Among items inventoried was a farm 2 arpents wide by the customary depth, located about 20 miles above New Orleans on the right bank of the river descending, bounded below by the farm of Jean Vaudry and above by that of Madame Alain.
