Proof is needed that that John Chantler was indeed Chantler-100. "Widow Chantler" was buried in Wadhurst in 1764; she could be John's wife Susanna.) _________________________________________ Stephon bap. 25? Note by a visitor, 2023: A secondary resource at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/KG65-RYC gives an extended family for John Chantler-100. His parents were John Chantler (1686-1734; born, married, and died in Ticehurst, Sussex) and Mary Lunn (b.1688 in Stepney, Middlesex), married in 1706 (in Stepney), and that father John's parents were Moses Chantler (1632-1707) and Mary (1633-1706). The latter Mary's years seem too early to have her the mother of John born 1686. The tree traces to Moses' grandparents John Wright and Joane Patter. I've not been able to confirm this family. In fact there are no Chantler entries in the Ticehurst register for 1686 or 1706. 1734 does have burial of John Chantler on 30 June and it seems reasonable that that was John Chantler-100's father. The Stepney, Middlesex, register does have Mary Lunn born 2 Dec 1688; I see no connection with our man in Sussex.
